Nice -- colour me very intrigued. Not to sound too cynical or ungrateful, but it's basically what the WiiU should have been (and honestly what I had expected it to be) from the beginning, in terms of functionality. I'm interested to see how all the front-end stuff works now.

Yes, this is much more like it. Loads of very interesting ideas with the controllers, portability, concentration on local multiplayer.

I especially like the return to the same configuration of the analog sticks they had with the GameCube (which Microsoft subsequently copied), I really don't get on with the way the Wii U sticks are organised.

Interested definitely, usual questions are based around battery life, is the whole console in the screen, if so what sort of power does it have?

One fear is that it uses an internet connection to talk to a base station (There were a few boxes designed to effectively stream games over the net) if so then is it usable without internet.

But yes, in general I like the look of it, and my Son will love a console that is both a big machine and a portable.
