I guess this means I will now delete sfx from my bookmarks on the iPad. On the plus side I can now move offtopica2 to the old spot. Farewell old forum.

I don't have it is a bookmark as I never needed it, it was the #1 address on all my different devices so when I click in the navigation bar it always comes up straight away. It makes me a little sad to see it this morning and know it led to an error.

Ironically SFX has just gone on the banned list at work, along with IMDB, lucky they don't know about here yet.

I took it off all my bookmark bars yesterday. It's such a habit to click it that I knew if I didn't remove it I'd just keep making myself sad.

I deleted it yesterday, while eating a Jaffa cake. It seemed a fitting tribute.

Damn shame they pulled the plug, guess I'll frequent this and see how it goes... They've switched the comments system to Disqus, you can log in to that with Twitter or basefook, but you then have to complete a simple profile. You do get notifications of replies though. Great! So I can't even comment anymore? Jeez...I don't like twotter & fuzzbonk!!!!! Why should I be dictated to???

I'd have to check the Ts&Cs before I sign up to that as you will often find these things allow the company responsible an inordinately large amount of access to your twitter/faceboak profiles.

You can just create a disqus profile via an email address: https://disqus.com/profile/signup/?next ... isqus.com/That's all I have and they don't really require too much data or send many emails.

That sounds suspiciously like 'Great news readers!' we're mergin your favourite comic and then cancelling its ass. I said exactly that before the forum spluttered, coughed and died. My favourite strips always got missed out! :o( (That said...without Star Lord merging with 2000ad we wouldn't have had Strontium Dog or Ro-Busters/ABC Warriors)

I wonder if Mr Lavigne will start a new Avril In Wonderland thread here. Nearly 4,500 posts and about a third of them from Happy Hangman taking the pxxx. By the way, are we allowed to speak normally here, or is there still an expletives embargo?

And yes you can, apart from the C word. I'll let you find out what happens when you type that one

You know, I'd completely forgotten what I'd done for words containing the C word! Me from several years ago just made me now laugh. But yes, Scu-nthorpe is sadly a casualty of the only bit of rude-word cencorship I indulge in.

There is something wrong with the higher ups at Future. They were going to close down CnVG and replace it with Kokatu Uk, a franchise they've licensed. Oddly most CnVG users had never heard of it, because they'd go directly to Kokatu's main site if they were inclined. The SFX forums will not be the same if they are lumped in with other sites. Who wants to talk about Neighbours and the like with people who take film seriously and will tell us Jar Jar is what was wrong with Star Wars? Or how the Avengers is shite because the video game players don't understand why Loki was the villain again? Or why slighty complex ideas about time travel are too much for their attention span? Or why the idea of meeting people in the countryside wasn't that overwhelming.
