Although Aliens In The Mind is a non-Doctor Who radio serial by then Doctor Who script editor Robert Holmes in 1977, Holmes originally submitted it as a Doctor Who story under the name The Aliens In The Blood for the Second Doctor for season 6 but this submission was not accepted.

Starring Peter Cushing and Vincent Price. Considering that this story was originally intended to be a Doctor Who story, that Cushing himself had been Doctor Who in the two 1960s Dalek movies.
It is funny that despite Cushing being presented as a different version of the William Hartnell Doctor that I keep on finding things that Cushing and Patrick Troughton have in common with The Aliens In The Blood/Aliens In The Mind being the latest example.

Episode 1 - Island Genesis:

Intriguing beginning with Dr John Cornelius (Cushing) attending the funeral of a friend on an island and meeting up with another friend Curtis Lark (Price) who tells him about mutants.
Good setting up for this story and interesting cliffhanger about the mutants.

Episode 2 – Hurried Exodus :

Funny when Lark said sinister minister.
The key to this whole situation is Flora and frustrating by what happened here with her.

Episode 3 – Unexpected Visitations:

Tense when Flora was under hypnosis as she talked about a fire and Molly.
Intriguing revelation about Shadow Defence Secretary Ian Sanderson as it now relates to national security.

Episode 4 – Official Intercessions:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007jlv8

Antepenultimate episode.
Interesting meeting the people that Lark and Cornelius went to see and what they learn from it.
Shocking what happened to the butler and Flora one more tragic than the other.

Episode 5 – Genetic Revelation:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007jlw9

Penultimate episode.
Quite a shock that Lark and Cornelius were informed of being thrown out of the country.
They noticed that someone has been following them and quite interesting on who this person turn out to be.

Aliens In The Mind Episode 6 – Final Tribulations:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007jlwv

Final episode.
Appearing in this episode only is Richard Hurndall. Like Peter Cushing, Hurndall played a version of the William Hartnell Doctor as Hurndall later played the First Doctor in The Five Doctors.
Funny how Aliens In The Mind began life as an unused Doctor Who story for Patrick Troughton only to end up as a non-Who story with two actors who had played a version of the Hartnell Doctor.
Thrilling how everything climaxes at that dinner and what happened afterwards.
The ending seems to left room for a sequel but after an enquiry I made it looks like that no sequel was ever made which is just as I thought.
