It looks the business.

Starting it with Bilbo and Gollum - that has to be intentional.

Wakanda looks amazing

Check out the panel and behind the scenes chats with the cast for this, this lot cracked me up. but what was really annoying me was trying to figure out who Letitia Wright was, because of the films she's been in of note I'd seen none of them, but knew I knew her quite well, but couldn't quite place her. Had to resort to IMDB in the end to put me out of my misery, and lo and behold, she's only the young lass from Humans who had that condition and assumed the persona of a synth. She was really good in that, so I'm not surprised she's done so well in so short a time, but from that to Hollywood blockbuster in next to no time at all? That is stratospheric! Good on her. She's also damned near totally unrecognisable under all that hair and make-up in the trailer.

:applaud:

Naw I think it looks like a hoot! And being the MCU character I'm probably the least familiar with, I'm genuinely curious to see it (Doctor Strange and Ant Man, whilst enjoyable, I kinda watched them on autopilot, because I could tell exactly what beats they were going to hit)

I will admit that there isnt a Marvel film that I have not enjoyed so far and no doubt when I watch this I will probably enjoy it but that trailer ... no ... I suspect the music is the biggest culprit there though

The visuals look spectacular, and the thought of African future technoir derived from non western influences excites me.

However as a trailer, it did seem more of a music video for a rap song. And as someone who can't stand that sort of music, the whole thing left me cold. I much preferred the first trailer.

The first trailer had a rap song too! It was just a better track that was well matched to the visuals.

Most DBAs, and a good few IT people will be lining up.

Actually would also be interested in hearing the Autonomous Database talk. With a meal and Black Panther thrown in bonus.

I assume this is nowhere near Northern Ireland.

http://comicbook.com/marvel/2018/02/01/ ... -campaign/

And the twattery begins! Ironically because of idiots like this the only rating you can trust is the critics score because despite them being in the pay of Marvel (obviously) they are only counted once.

Why would you do this? Is this a race issue? Are the basement dwellers scared of a coloured hero???
This all seems exceptionally sad.

I'm really looking forward to this film. Shame there's folks out there that want to ruin things for other people just to suit their agenda.

Edit: I note it's allegedly DC fans. Sad fux. Get a life!

Unfortunately Idiots like this were around long before the age of Trump

and not to pick holes but ....

The Group are calling themselves "Down with Disney’s Treatment of Franchises and its Fanboys,"

... the way slang is these days doesn't that actually read that they support the idea .... they are (Air Quote) "Down with it" ?

They definitely mean it in a "Down with this sort of thing" way.

Trump's obviously a symptom rather than a cause but having the Troll in Chief in the White House has clearly given all the little trolls permission to come out and play.

Oh I defiantly got that, just think that in this day and age real thought needs to go into the name of a group you must take slang and all that into account

100% fresh so far on RT (after 48 reviews), average rating 8.6. I'm sure some attention seeker will give it a bad review eventually but we can live in hope.

Just ignore RT like I do and decide for yourself!

Watched it today. Enjoyed it a lot, great performances by everyone involved and a very well realised story. My only complaint really is that it lacked action. Not to say there weren't great action sequences because there were, but as a superhero film it needed a bit more Black Panther in my opinion. My 13 year-old son enjoyed it more than my 10 y/o daughter.

Great to see Daniel Kaluuya, been a fan since Psychoville and The Fades and it's always great to have people you like appearing in major films; same with Danai Gurira who was excellent.

Overall, a good film I enjoyed a lot, but I didn't come out if it thinking "woah, that was awesome!".

FYI, two post credit scenes, one after the main cast credits and one at the end of all the credits. If you're not that bothered, the second one isn't in any way game changing or revelatory, or indeed unexpected, so you wouldn't be missing anything substantial if you're in a hurry to leave.

I only mention it because a 100% RT score is noteworthy. A 97% score isn't substantively different for deciding on whether to see a film or not.

I find that life is too short for ignoring the critics. Has there ever been a film that they collectively rated as bad but was actually good (and not in a 'so bad it's good' way)?

I've thouroughly enjoyed Bright and the new Cloverfield film on Netflix recently and I didn't see positive critical reviews for either, while The Last Jedi was a disappointment for me and critics raved about it. I could probably think of more, but my point is, make your own mind up and don't worry about people who are paid to see so many films that they don't necessarily represent people who watch a film every few weeks or longer.

You are objectively wrong about all of these films! You do have a point about The Last Jedi though. IMHO critics are good at warning you away from bad films but they are less good at pointing you towards good films.
