Chuffed to bits Deadpool is doing so great, very much well deserved.

Does a nice job of illustrating the fact that there is a big market for more adult orientated comic book movies too. Like there was any doubt.

I liked it. Very funny.
Surprised it was only 15 rated tho. Considering the level of violence.

Didn't stick around for the post credit scenes though.

Apparently off of the strength of this Fox are considering R-rated Wolverine 3 and X-Force movies.

Nice!

And of course the wrong lesson has been learnt.

Not that I am objecting.

I don't see much wrong with making more R-rated comic book movies if the source material needs it to be, as with Deadpool, but if all the R-rated comic book movies of the future also try and go for the same tone, then they will fail. There's only Deadpool that can be Deadpool, if Wolverine were to suddenly start cracking wise and breaking the fourth wall, it'd be weird.

Ryan Reynolds has said that he wants to do an X-Force film and I have to wonder how they would incorporate Deadpool into more of an ensemble piece. Could go really wrong if they weren't being careful.

Oh, and I went to the doctor's yesterday and in the waiting room the local oldies station was playing Careless Whisper. I may have giggled, just a bit.

So you have read James Gunn's rant regarding this I gather? Very funny and on point in relation to someone raving about Deadpool and slagging off Marvel movies, and totally missing the point as to what made Deadpool good in the first place. Mr. Gunn certainly lets that individual have it.

Nope hadn't read it. But having now read it, yup.

But my fear is not a string of unfunny 4th wall breaking explicit comicbook films, although that is a very real risk, but a series of by the numbers R rated that just offer a series of exploding heads .

All of which will be the death knell for R rated comicbook films in the medium term, stopping original takes like this where the right team with the right ideas can get their project made.

Also, R rated comicbook films are being made. Kickass, Kingsmen. However this is one of the major mainstream franchises at a major studio trying it. That's were things could get interesting,.

This made me chuckle....

Cap America and ol' Shellhead arguing over who gets to have Deadpool on their team.

Yes they played it late night on one of the French TV channels. IS the Cyalis bathtub joke known in the UK? I was having to explain it to a couple of friends who were with us as they don't use the bathtub ad in France

I've never seen it, but maybe I just haven't been watching TV at the right time.

I feel compelled to point out that that advert is inaccurate for the UK and that the bluray/dvd is out on June 13th here. I wonder if we'll get a special video too?

Cyalis adverts are very similar to the Deadpool advert, a middle age couple wandering along a river bank, the man picking flowers, she doing a little bit of a dance and lots of smiling. Not as overt as sanding down the chair stool though there was one for Mike Ditka (former Chicago Bear's Manager) advertising competitor Levitra throwing footballs through a hoop

Cyalis tend to be more subdues but always end with the couple in separate bath tubs in the outside

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMSv0GtzCDk

They're the ones who get to warn about erections lasting for more than 48 hours  The truth is that this happened to just one person in the trials such a "small" occurrence that they were legally not obliged to mention it in their advert

Because Cialis have an advertising formula than Viagra they've caused quite a number of parodies all featuring the twin bathtubs

You know the issue here Deadpool was a great movie I mean a GREAT movie but now they are gearing up for Deadpool 2 and we will scrutinize every scrap of it eventually turn against it in internet backlash and declare it "not as good as the first" we build it up we tear it down

INEVITABLE

Marketing for this film and Bluray though has been superb :)

Maybe that is how they should market a sequel? Point out that it repeats many of its own themes, the jokes have been done before, etc, etc.

I only got around to seeing this recently and I was pretty underwhelmed. It was funny and entertaining, but no more than that. Then again, that's the best I usually seem to get to with Ryan Reynolds movies as I don't like him all that much. I do like him more in this than in other things I've seen him in, but it's still him.

Watched this on Saturday night and absolutely loved it. I know next to nothing about Deadpool, never read any comics, nothing like that, so came to it without any real expectations and thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't have the problem with Ryan Reynolds that others seem to (though I understand the sentiment; I can't stand Ben Stiller). I particularly liked the fight scenes, which were better done than the vast majority of super-hero films I've seen.

Awesome. Can't wait for this, though I'm probably going to have to 'cos I can't go to see it in the cinema with the kids!

Excellent. And simultaneously ripping Justice League and Disney.

And apparently the Deadpool Twitter account was something to read during Superbowl.
