Has anyone been watching this? I've actually found it to be pretty good. It has the sorta crass humour you'd expect from a production involving Seth Rogen, but it is actually really well conceived, and plays well with the well known tropes of time travel and puts it's own twist on it, full of knowing nods to popular culture and sci-fi. I've actually found it and the characters in there pretty engaging, and the way it plays with the different eras they visit when travelling back in time, it is all pretty on point. It is on episode 10 now, but if you get the chance it is well worth checking out. If you liked the tone of The Orville you'll probably like this. Think of this as The Orville of Time Travel shows, with a dash of The Last Starfighter thrown in for good measure, with just a pinch of dick and fart jokes.

I was actually going to start a thread on this myself when I'd caught up with it (currently on about episode 6 I think).

Yeah, I was surprised at how good it is. As you say, some of the humour is a bit juvenile, but never excessively so, and it manages to be a bit silly at times without getting too silly, which is often the downfall of comedy programmes like this.

Yeah, I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Gave up on the first episode. The humour wasn't for me.

Does it get any better? Or is the tone of the first episode typical?

Yeah, if you didn't like the first episode then you won't like the rest of it.

What did people think of the finale? I think this ended up being a cracking series. Glad I took a punt on it and checked it out. Wrapped things up nicely while also leaving the door open for a continuation. Nicely done.

Absolutely, it was a brilliant series, only one mediocre episode in the entire run. Finale was great. Second season confirmed so I'mreally looking forward to what comes next.

I have to say, naked bathroom fight scene was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time, for, er, different sized reasons.

I think episode 7? The one where Wolf was doing his cooking thing and Tiger was raising Kronish. Not by any means bad, just the only one I felt was a bit of a filler episode to advance the story.

Ahhh right. I quite enjoyed that episode, but I get what you mean. It was necessary though, even though it didn’t feel like it forwarded the plot much, it illustrated how the characters in question had quite literally lived entire event filled lives in the past, and these events lead to growth as characters that allowed them to come together once again after their relationship had hit rock bottom in the previous episode and seemed totally irreparable. So felt like filler, but actually really wasn’t. Ended up being a fun and very random episode as a result. And you have to like a few of those in a show, and it is damned hard to appear random amongst this lot.

Hmmm, anyone watching the second season of this? Came around quick, think I'd barely finished watching the first when the trailers for the second season came out.

What do people think of it so far? Doesn't seem as focused as the first, though there are still some interesting ideas going on in there. If the first was like their take on The Terminator, this one seems to be more their take on Planet of the Apes, 12 Monkeys or Woody Allen's sci-fi Sleeper. We'll see where it goes I guess. Still a good watch, but I'm waiting for the crazy to fully crack in like it did in the first season.

Yeah, it's not quite as good so far this season, but still highly enjoyable. Unlike the first season where they avoided getting too silly, the laughs feel a bit forced. Not sure spending the first three episodes concentrating on single characters was the best idea either, I think it works better when they're together.

Yeah I agree. Well they are all back together at last, so hopefully that'll help rekindle the magic of the first season.

Well I thought the last four episodes were great, especially the penultimate one. It really is true that this works best when the team are back together; there's a chemistry between the three of them that hugely improves the show overall.

Liked the finale but by about ten minutes in the twist became blindingly obvious. Still, it was a great ending and I'm looking forward to the third (and sadly final) season a lot.

Yeah, I thought the last episodes were great too. nicely paid off on what had gone before, and the finale was pretty cool too, but yeah, the penultimate episode was more where the meat of this series came to a satisfying conclusion.
