Hello and welcome Offtopica 2!

This forum was started elsewhere, ages ago, because the SFX forum used to shut down at about 2am and I thought it would be good to have a place to go to to continue chatting into the night. Later, realising what was on offer on the internet, I relocated, then a few years later relocated here, using the latest phpBB3 software. Since then, Offtopica 2 has grown to be much more than just somewhere to go when the other place is being crap, though it does still fulfill that function.

This forum isn't another clone of the SFX forum; rather it's a place to just generally chat, play games, rant about things that are annoying you or whatever, with the people you've come to know elsewhere, sharing the same interests. There's also a section to be built by the members with whatever subjects you want in it! See the post in that section for more information. There's no restrictions abut what type of subject you want to talk about, be it SF/Fantasy or mainstream, so feel free to say what you like, though this forum is aimed mainly at SF/Fantasy fans.

I don't do an awful lot of moderation. This means that if you're easily offended by swearing then you might want to leave this place alone. Doesn't bother me personally and I think we're all pretty much grown up enough to be able to express ourselves the way we want, so there's no need to bother with ****'s in the middle of words if you don't want to. Well, OK, there's one word I don't like. You'll probably find out what it is before long.

For those of you unfamiliar with phpBB forums, most of what you'll need to know can be found in the FAQs (in the menu at the top of the page). For everyone else, we have all the features you'll have come to rely upon on other forums.

These include 150x150 avatars, a varied and extensive rank image system, an extensive list of smilies, and fully functional private messaging, as well as file uploading and a twenty option polling system.


Also, for your enjoyment I've included the Miniclip Arcade! Have a play on the games, they're all free.

As far as posting goes, please first read the rules before heading to the discussion forums.

RULES

These are the official rules concerning forum content from the forum Terms and Conditions. Breaking of these rules will mean that this forum is deleted with no possibility of retrieval so please make sure you're aware of what is and isn't allowed.

Strictly Prohibited Content:
- Warez / Piracy / Hacking / Viruses, or illegal mp3's
- Adult / Obscene material
- Depictions of Minors/Children (even minimal sexual context is not allowed)
- Illegal Drugs / Terrorism
- Derogatory/Slanderous/Racial/Explicit Material
- Sharing of passwords / Serial Numbers /

To summarize.

No illegal activity:
- No hacking.
- No mp3 sharing (sharing mix CDs is illegal and therefore can't be organised here).
- No adult material (porn, explicit descriptions of sex etc).
- No depictions of minors in a sexual context.
- No discussion of illegal drugs (including marijuana, ecstasy etc).
- No racist or overtly sexist comments or attitudes (this includes the telling of jokes), no libelous comments.
- No sharing of passwords/ serial numbers etc.
- No invasions of privacy or impersonation of others.
- No spamming.
- Absolutely no harassing behaviour/bullying.
- Nothing that could be considered illegal.


Further to these rules:
- No multiple usernames. You can only register once.
- No advertising products or services; this is a discussion forum and not a marketplace!


Basically, don't do anything illegal and treat each other with respect. Nasty or malicious behaviour is frowned upon.

Physical threats will not be tolerated.

I'd like this forum to be a nice, friendly and welcoming place. So far, it has been. Which is nice.
