The Nightmare Stacks by Charles Stross. The book is the latest in the Laundry series, this time concentrating on recent recruits Alex the PHANG and Pete the vicar. The two of them are sent on assignment to Leeds to set up a new site, Alex has an awkward dinner with his family and then CASE NIGHTMARE RED rears its many ugly heads.

All good fun, with several of the minor characters from previous books reappearing and the return of Bob's Nazi half-track motorbike*. I'm looking forward to the next one.

* Google "Kettenkrad" if you want to see the real thing.

"Forever and a Day" by Anthony Horowitz.

Second of Horowitz's authorised James Bond novels, with "original material" (Basically a story outline for a proposed Bond TV show adapted into a single chapter) by Ian Fleming.

Very much an origin story for Bond, detailing his first assignment as a double-oh agent, investigating the brutal death of his predecessor as 007.
