Listening through the Trans Siberian Orchestra Christmas Albums trying to decide which one to buy for my wife (she complains that Christmas music doesn't have enough classic influence or guitars).

Any people have suggestions of their own?

For anyone who likes the sound of alt pop fused with electronica, try Barringtone:

Two CDs currently keeping my ears amused - one is by the Friary Guildford brass band. I used to play with this group regularly and they are on a major run of success lately (winning a number of competitions). The CD does them justice - some superb playing.
The other is from a youth band I help tutor - simply astonishing, especially when thinking that the whole band is under 18. Makes me very proud to be associated with the band.

Tubular Bells
Recently introduced my better half to the music of Mike Oldfield (she approved!) and it has reminded me just how much I love this piece.

The Royal Blood album....very interesting, heavy gritty and earthy. Like The White Stripes if they were any good.

The Pale Emperor by Marilyn Manson. Surprisingly mature sounding whilst still keeping his unique style
